Location

Registration, talks and hackathon takes place at HTKW Leipzig, Nieper-Bau, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 134, D-04277 Leipzig, using rooms (all on ground floor)

Tutorials take place at Gutenberg-Bau, Gustav-Freytag-Straße 42, using rooms (on first floor)

We have Eduroam WLAN access, and there will be an extra network for guests.

Barbecue and performance on Thursday night will be at HfTL Club Stecker, Eichendorffstraße 14.

Travel

Leipzig has an airport, with an express train (30 min) to Leipzig Central.

Leipzig Central (Hauptbahnhof) is on the German high speed railway network (ICE) and has frequent connections to Berlin (1 hour), Frankfurt (3 hours), Munich (5 hours).

The tram stop next to the workshop location is Connewitz Kreuz, served by (coming from Central Station)

  • line 11 (direction Dölitz or Markkleeberg-Ost)
  • line 16 (direction Lößnig).

Line 16 does not normally go here, but currently it does, because of a detour. (tram timetables - but you don’t need these as the trams do run frequently - at approx. 10 minute intervals during daytimes).

Workshop fee covers access to talks and coffee, and includes the barbecue. You need an extra barbecue ticket if you’re an accompanying person, or a HTWK person.

Lunch is not included. There are several options for lunch within walking distance.

Proof of student status must be provided on-site.

Students and staff of HTWK Leipzig get free access to the talks - but need to follow the usual registration process and deadlines for barbecue and hackathon.

Registration Data

To start the registration process, send the following information in email with subject “HAL 2017 registration” to the local organizer, johannes (dot) waldmann (at) htwk (minus) leipzig (dot) de.

  • your full name and postal address (this will be printed on the invoice and receipt)
  • your name and (short form of) your institution (this will be printed on your name tag - where space is tight)
  • your order (Workshop/Hackathon regular/student - pick the applicable option from the table above, and add the expected price, just to be sure)
  • special needs (e.g., wheelchair access, vegetarian preference for barbecue)

Registration Process

  • You send your registration data to the local organizer.
  • We send to you an invoice by email.
  • You transfer the money, according to the instructions for bank transfer attached to the invoice.
  • Once we receive the money, your registration is completed. You will get a written receipt at the workshop.

Make sure the money is in our account before the deadline. Else, you will have to pay extra.

Make sure to follow payment instructions exactly. (Account number is not enough - we also need the reference number to trace your money). Do not send money before you get the invoice. We cannot process credit cards.

Leipzig has lots of hotels of all price ranges. More tourist info.
